New Release Tuesday

The Substance- A fading celebrity takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself.  I just do not know if I am in on this one.  I do not know care for body horror flicks too much.

Venom: The Last Dance- Eddie Brock and Venom must make a devastating decision as they're pursued by a mysterious military man and alien monsters from Venom's home world.  I saw the first two, why not finish the trilogy.

Smile 2- About to embark on a world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her past.  I guess I need to dust off Smile 1 and finally watch that so I can enjoy this one too.  I hear both are really good.

The Grifters- A small-time conman has torn loyalties between his estranged mother and new girlfriend, both of whom are high-stakes grifters with their own angles to play.  Back when John Cusack was not such a freak and did interesting movies.  A very good conman flick.

Heretic- Two young religious women are drawn into a game of cat-and-mouse in the house of a strange man.  I enjoyed the trailer for this so I will need to check it out soon.

New Release Tuesday

Armor- A father and son working as security guards for an armored truck company encounter a team of would-be robbers while on a bridge. They become trapped and must come up with a plan to escape and ensure their survival.  Sly got 3.5 million for a day’s work on this action flick.  Not bad.  This is a descent movie and it is nice to see Sly play a bad guy for a change.

Saturday Night- At 11:30pm on October 11th, 1975, a ferocious troupe of young comedians and writers changed television forever. Find out what happened behind the scenes in the 90 minutes leading up to the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live (1975).  Looks like a great story and I look forward to seeing how this plays out during SNL’s 50th anniversary.

The Yorkie Werewolf- A rebellious teen witch is turned into a tiny werewolf and thrown into the middle of a decades-old war between one small town's creatures of the night - and the local mafia.  I have been attacked by a Yorkie before, they are very mean little creatures.

Seven- Two detectives, a rookie and a veteran, hunt a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his motives.  A new 4k supervised by Fincher himself. Let’s spin this to see If we can find out what’s in the box.  Highly recommended.
