Sinners- Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. So far this is my favorite movie of the year. Minus Black Panther 2 Ryan Coogler is a director to be reckoned with and I look forward to what he is doing next. X-Files anyone? This is a superb horror movie with outstanding performances all around. Check it out and stay thru all the credits.
Warfare- A platoon of Navy SEALs embark on a dangerous mission in Ramadi, Iraq, with the chaos and brotherhood of war retold through their memories of the event. This is a very lean, quick, action-packed sequence of events. Once the exposition is complete this movie takes off and is just a balls out action movie. It’s a really good war flick; give it a look see.
Fallout- In a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation, citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits. Amazon keeps hitting on shows lately, looking at you Reacher, but this one was an unexpected surprise and Walton Goggins is fantastic and I am glad the dude is finally getting his due.
