It was reported this week that Twentieth Century Fox is remaking John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China with The Rock taking over the Jack Burton role originally played by Kurt Russell. The original was a box-office failure but quickly became a cult classic and is often considered one of the most iconic of the 80s movies. I am getting tired of remakes and I hope Fox rethinks this and looks at how bad the box office take is on the Poltergeist remake. I love the Rock but this classic does not need to be remade. I would rather just see a sequel with Carpenter and Russell involved together again for one last time, wouldn’t that be great?
