The aliens are coming and their goal is to invade and
destroy Earth. This movie was quite an
event when it came out and they have been talking about a sequel for years so
it is good to see it finally get made. The
original blu ray release of this was not very good so I am glad we get a new
re-release of this sci-fi action film.
This is a nice looking steelbook to celebrate the 30th
anniversary of this action classic but I am not sure if there is anything new
here or just a new packaged re-release.
There is still sequel talk going on with this too and always remember
never leave your wing man.
Warner Brothers continues to slowly give us more Eastwood catalog
titles as this was supposed to be the biggest buddy team up movie of all
time. There was some preproduction
issues going on with the flick and once production finally got started Burt
Reynolds suffered an injury on set early during the shoot when a stuntman
accidentally hit him with a chair that was not a break away chair. The accident really crippled Reynolds for the
shoot and Clint supported Burt the best he could to get the movie finished but
the end result was fair. The movie has
its moments with very good banter between the two mega stars but kind of like
my thoughts about Batman vs Superman, it could have been so much better.
Clint plays an over-the-hill journalist that uncovers
evidence that can prove a death row inmate's innocence just hours before his
execution. This was a nice little
thriller from Eastwood that has a killer cast in it. Give this one a spin.
Two counterculture bikers travel from Los Angeles to New
Orleans in search of America. This is a new release from Criterion that I will
need to pick during the July sale.
Brilliant team up here from Universal.
