Hey! I am still fighting the good fight at home and I hope all of you are staying safe. Covid has hit our household recently so we had to stay in for awhile and change up the holidays but we made it and all is good. New physical media is almost non-existent right now since there are few new theatrical releases coming out and even the niche studios like Shout Factory and Kino seem a little slow right now. Let's look at a few worthy titles that came out recently.
Honest Thief- Wanting to
lead an honest life, a notorious bank robber turns himself in, only to be
double-crossed by two ruthless FBI agents.
Liam Neeson is still putting out action flicks so I will keep watching
them even though most of them all look the same.
Possessor- Possessor
follows an agent who works for a secretive organization that uses brain-implant
technology to inhabit other people's bodies - ultimately driving them to commit
assassinations for high-paying clients.
This actually came out a few weeks ago but I missed it. The is from director Brandon Cronenberg, son
of David Cronenberg who knows a thing or two about making movies. This is on several top 10 lists for last year
so I really need to spin this soon.
The Train- In 1944, a
German colonel loads a train with French art treasures to send to Germany. The
Resistance must stop it without damaging the cargo. A nice looking World War 2 movie and I love
watching war related movies.
