New Release Last Tuesday

This has absolutely been my favorite show of the past six years and I am really going to miss it.  It had top notch acting, directing, and especially writing and that made it one of the most critically loved shows on the air even though it was not a huge ratings winner.  If I had to rate the seasons I think five was a bit of a stinker but this last season may have been the best of all of them.  Do you think Raylan will show up again sometime?  I sure hope so.

A cross country coach in a small California town transforms a team of athletes into championship contenders.  This is a good looking sports movie for the family and I am a still a big fan of Mr. Costner.  Is he still working on that new Western?

Eh, I have absolute zero interest in this flick.

1981 was the year of werewolf movies and it has never been equaled since.  We got An American Werewolf in London, The Howling, and Wolfen a story about A New York cop investigating a series of brutal deaths that resemble animal attacks.

This is a new set that features two new titles (Cahill and The Train Robbers) to blu ray and some great released titles.  You always need some Duke Wayne for your video library.

Eastwood Takes on Captain Sully

Director Clint Eastwood is done collecting checks and accolades from his biggest hit ever, American Sniper, and has settled on his next project about Captain Sully and the plane he had to take down into the Hudson River.

The movie is described as follows:
The film will go beyond Sullenberger’s almost impossible and much-heralded achievement of safely landing a jumbo jet on the water, which was captured on video and viewed around the world. But behind the scenes, a drama was unfolding that could have cost him his reputation and his wings.

No release date has been scheduled yet but as fast as Clint works I am thinking this will be a late 2016 release.

“You Leave Jack Burton Alone!”

It was reported this week that Twentieth Century Fox is remaking John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China with The Rock taking over the Jack Burton role originally played by Kurt Russell.  The original was a box-office failure but quickly became a cult classic and is often considered one of the most iconic of the 80s movies.  I am getting tired of remakes and I hope Fox rethinks this and looks at how bad the box office take is on the Poltergeist remake. I love the Rock but this classic does not need to be remade.  I would rather just see a sequel with Carpenter and Russell involved together again for one last time, wouldn’t that be great?
