A dramatization of the April 2010
disaster when the offshore drilling rig, Deepwater Horizon, exploded and
created the worst oil spill in U.S. history.
This was a great movie directed by Peter Berg as Marky Mark was good in
it and it’s always great to see Kurt Russell on screen. Jon Malkovich plays the slimy BP oil exec on
the oil rig that gave the go ahead to drill and you just want to grab this guy and
smack him around some. Highly recommended.
As a math savant uncooks the books
for a new client, the Treasury Department closes in on his activities and the
body count starts to rise. I did not
hear much about this but it looked interesting enough to warrant a viewing sometime
soon.
Nat Turner, a literate slave and
preacher in the antebellum South, orchestrates an uprising. This is a movie that the distributer paid way
too much for because of some hype and then shamelessly advertised the movie
using the black lives matter campaign behind it. It apparently is awful, tanked at the box
office, and the director was an absolute jerk while out doing press for the
movie because the guy was accused of rape from years back and that was out
there now so that was more of the story then the actual movie stinking at the
time this came out. Keep this movie in
the red and do not buy or rent it.
Juvenile lost causes are reformed by
a war veteran using survival tactics. Here is a blast from the HBO past. This is a cool action flick produced by
Michael Mann so that is why it has a Miami Vice look to it and it will be dated
now. Directed by Starsky himself, Paul
Michael Glaser so give this a spin as it is a lot of fun.
Follows Elliot, a young programmer
working as a cyber-security engineer by day, and a vigilante hacker by
night. I have been reading good things
about this smart looking TV show. One of
these days maybe…
