Arrival- When twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world,
linguistics professor Louise Banks is tasked with interpreting the language of
the apparent alien visitors. I did not
catch this in the theater so I am glad this sc-fi thriller is out today. I hope Amy Adams finally got away from romantic
comedies for good.
The Yakuza- Harry Kilmer returns to Japan after
several years to rescue his friend George's kidnapped daughter - and ends up on
the wrong side of the Yakuza, the notorious Japanese mafia. Robert Mitchum was a bad ass in his day and if
you doubt me got watch the original Cape Fear.
I am wondering if Mitchum uses some martial arts in this 70s action
flick?
One Million Years B.C.- In this remake of the 1940 film with a similar title,
Prehistoric man Tumak is banished from his savage tribe and meets pretty Loana
who belongs to a gentler coastal tribe but he must fight caveman Payto to win
her favors. An all-time classic.
It Came from Outer Space- A
spaceship from another world crashes in the Arizona desert, and only an amateur
stargazer and a schoolteacher suspect alien influence when the local townsfolk
begin to act strange. I picked this up a
long time ago when it was a Best Buy exclusive but now the Amazon masses can
enjoy it.
