Freebie and
the Bean: San Francisco police detectives Freebie and Bean are determined to
bust local crime boss Red Meyers at any cost, even if this means destroying the
whole city in the process. Most people
believe the buddy cop movie started with Lethal Weapon but it actually started
twelve years earlier with this gem. Alan
Arkin and James Caan play off each other fantastically in this as they are
dirty and not politically correct cops that will do anything to make the
bust. This movie features some awesome
stunts too for its time and I am so glad this underrated classic is getting the
blu ray treatment. Alright Warner
Archive now give us Charley Varrick please.
Highly Recommended.
Snatched: When
her boyfriend dumps her before their exotic vacation, a young woman persuades
her ultra-cautious mother to travel with her to paradise, with unexpected
results. I am not sure what the backlash
is against Amy Schumer besides her pledge to move to Canada if her fav for
President did not win. Celebrities have
been making those claims for years, look at Alec Baldwin. He is doing good stuff like Boss Baby now. Anyway, this looks worthy of a rental and
certainly checking out the return of Goldie Hawn.
King Arthur:
Robbed of his birthright, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of
the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, he is forced to
acknowledge his true legacy - whether he likes it or not. Meh. I
liked Charlie Hunnam in SOA but that guy has no charisma and his acting is a
but under par so I am not sure why the WB thinks he can carry a big movie like
this summer dud.
Charlotte: You’ve met Annabelle now meet Charlotte and her
anthology.
