Wonder
Woman: When
a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian
warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers
and true destiny. Well, Warner Brothers
got their DC ship on course with this great flick, for now. That may all change in a couple of months
when Justice League gets released but I hope it is great and maybe with all the
reshoots and script changes they have been doing maybe it will be. It appears Ben Affleck is out as Batman and
hopefully I am wrong about that too but all indications are he is done but the
studio is not going publicly say that before the movie is released. How did I get on a JL rant? Anyway, see this flick because it is
awesome. Highly recommended.
Hero: An
ailing movie star comes to terms with his past and mortality. This is a good
looking drama with Sam Elliot and his mustache.
I could see Eastwood in this then years ago.
Innocent
Blood: Marie is a vampire with a thirst for bad guys. When she fails to
properly dispose of one of her victims, a violent mob boss, she bites off more
than she can chew and faces a new, immortal danger. I have never seen this horror-comedy and I am
kind of ashamed to admit it since John Landis directed it and he did the best
horror-comedy of all-time.
Bates Motel: I did not keep up with this series on TV as I
have waited for these blu ray releases.
This has been a great show and it has been nice to see Norman Bates
brought back in any way. I hope we get
to see him on the big screen again one day.
Big Sick: Pakistan-born
comedian Kumail Nanjiani and grad student Emily Gardner fall in love but
struggle as their cultures clash. When Emily contracts a mysterious illness,
Kumail finds himself forced to face her feisty parents, his family's expectations,
and his true feelings. A cool looking independent
comedy from Amazon and Lionsgate that did really nice business with over $50
million at the box office from a $5 million budget.
