I am a baseball nut and this is one of my favorite books. I got this at the library in 2003 and read this in two nights, it was just that good. Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane was running a losing team on a low payroll and needed to try something drastic to turn the club around. In short the team switched to relying on computer stats for drafting and trading for players to get the best bang for their buck. The results paid off as they went to the playoffs three out of five years. Funny, no one never seems to mention they also had Mulder, Zito, and Hudson at this time too.
Jason Statham returns in another "killer" action movie with a good supporting cast of Clive Owen and the check cashing Robert De Niro.
This seems to be a real popular show about gangsters during Prohibition. It is nice to see great supporting actors Steve Buscemi and Michael Shannon lead a show. I hear such good things about this that I may forgive HBO about Deadwood and give this a spin.
Watching Archer season 2 to get ready for season 3 on January 19.
Still quiet on the Ranger front as the Yu contract negotiations should start picking up anytime now.
