New Release Tuesday- The Last of 2017!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas as I certainly did even if I did spend most of it in bed with the flu.  The flu is no joke as an adult as I have not been that sick since I was a kid.  Thanks to everyone that drops by and gives the page a quick read and please continue to support physical media.  The other day at the house the WI-fi connection went down for several hours, so what did I do?  I spun a Blu-ray, Spider-man: Homecoming as a matter of fact.  I hope you and yours have a prosperous and happy new year! 

This is a great last week for new releases, as we have a new title from one of my favorite directors, a new movie from a local company, and a new action comedy from an action legend.  Let's see what they are:

Mayhem- A virus spreads through an office complex causing white collar workers to act out their worst impulses. I have been hearing great things about this crazy looking flick from director Joe Lynch (Everly, Wrong Turn 2) and I look forward to spinning this tonight.  Joe Lynch is an avid movie fan and if you are not listening to the Movie Crypt podcast then you are retarded!

Brawl in Cell Block 99- A former boxer-turned-drug runner lands in a prison battleground after a deal gets deadly.  Again, I have heard nothing but good things about this and it is from a production company called Cinestate which produced the fantastic Bone Tomahawk a couple of years ago and they set up shop right here in Dallas. This will get a spin tomorrow night.

Killing Gunther- A group of eccentric assassins are fed up with Gunther, the world's greatest hitman, and decide to kill him, but their plan turns into a series of bungled encounters as Gunther seems to always be one step ahead.  The crowd is pretty divided on this Arnold dtv flick and I must admit I am a bit iffy myself on this title myself, but I am a completist, so this is already collecting dust on the shelf.  I am sure Arnold is only in this about 10 minutes, but I will eventually watch to check those out.

Fletch Lives- After receiving an inheritance in Louisiana, Los Angeles reporter Irvin Fletcher heads to the Belle Isle plantation where he gets himself into hilarious trouble.  I did not care for this sequel when it first came out but many college viewings and a few beverages made me appreciate this more and I am glad it is getting a blu release.  This has a great supporting cast of R. Lee Ermey, Cleavon Little, and Hal Holbrook who all are hilarious and give the Chevy some great characters to play off on.
