New Release Tuesday

I don't know why I keep saying I am working from home, that is boring.  I am now officially renaming home "The Batcave" from now on.  There were some good titles that came out last week.  I could only find one of them in stores so it looks like Mr. Amazon will be getting some orders.  Let's see what came out:

The Marksman- A rancher on the Arizona border becomes the unlikely defender of a young Mexican boy desperately fleeing the cartel assassins who've pursued him into the U.S.  I like all these Liam Neeson action flicks.  This one seems like a current event so I have acquired this and will be spinning it soon.

Justice Society: War World II: The Justice Society of America , a group of heroes aiding the allies in World War 2, acquire an ally from the future who sends them on an adventure that changes history.   DC still makes really good animated movies so I have high hopes for this one.

King Kong- A petroleum exploration expedition comes to an isolated island and encounters a colossal giant gorilla.  I loved this movie as a kid then watched it later on in life and did not care for it.  Shout Factory put this out so I am really interested in picking this up.  I feel I may like it better nowadays.  Especially since a learned that that is make-up guru Rick Baker in the monkey costume.

Tank- Sergeant Major Zack arrives at a new army base with his wife, son and Sherman tank. One night at a bar he prevents a pimp/deputy from beating a girl. The corrupt sheriff uses Zack's son for revenge and Zack uses his tank for his revenge.  I have not see this since its HBO days and I leaning towards picking this up also because I thought it was a solid Garner flick.

Cosmic Sin- Seven rogue soldiers launch a preemptive strike against a newly discovered alien civilization in the hopes of ending an interstellar war before it starts.  One of these Bruce Willis movies has to be descent, don’t they?  This one looked positive until I saw the 2.5 IMDB rating.  I do not usually go by those ratings but I rarely see them that low.  Viewer beware.  Remember when Bruce Willis was cool?

Revenge of the Fifth!

New Release Tuesday

We are going thru tornado season here in Texas right now but so far all is good here.  I am still fighting the battle from home and may keep that up for awhile longer.  I still get out and cruise Wal Marts and Targets for physical media and there is not much out there.  Both stores have reduced what they carry and Target is getting so bad I am not sure why I keep going there.  There is an actual new release this week and some oldies, let's check them out:

The Little Things- Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe Deacon is sent to Los Angeles for what should have been a quick evidence-gathering assignment. Instead, he becomes embroiled in the search for a serial killer who is terrorizing the city.  I missed this on HBO Max when it was out and I regret that because this was a good looking serial killer movie with a great cast.

Hellfighters- The adventures of oil well fire specialist Chance Buckman (based on real-life Red Adair), who extinguishes massive fires in oil fields around the world.  This is not the best Dule Wayne movie but he was trying something different here besides a cowboy or a cop and it is not too bad.

Cool As Ice- A rapper gets stuck in a small town and falls for a local girl whose family is in witness protection.  Man, I loved Vanilla Ice back in 1991.  I had all sorts of different versions of Ice Ice Baby on cassette tape.  I never saw this and the 2.9 IMDB rating is the lowest I think I have seen for a studio movie.  I am still passing on this one but may have to see if I still have those cassettes.  Uh, what I am going to play them on?

Scars of War Set- A nice looking set of descent war movies.  Alamo Bay alone goes for $30 and this set is $15 so this is quite a bargain.
