Dismember the Alamo 2021!

Oh it's back!  My favorite Halloween event was cancelled along with everything else last year but Dismember is back.  It will be a little different as we will only be doing a double instead of five movies but that is ok, at least we have it this year.  The movies are unannounced so we do not what we are watching until the credits roll and it is always fun with the sold out crowd.  I will be hanging with my best bud so it is going to be a great Halloween.  The movie marathon will continue at my house that night of course.  Happy Halloween!

New Releases

I took some time off work and got did a staycation here at the Batcave and got some things done around here.  That included not looking at a computer and barely looking at my phone.  You should give it a try some time.  It is cooling off here in Texas and I have been enjoying horror movies galore so life is pretty much great.  There has been some good stuff out the last few weeks, let's take a gander:

F9- Dom and the crew must take on an international terrorist who turns out to be Dom and Mia's estranged brother.  These movies are fun but this just seemed to be missing something…oh yeah, The Rock is not in it.  The person that made this a billion-dollar franchise.  Vin is a punk and I will always be on Team Rock but I did see this and it was ridiculous but it is still an enjoyable watch.

Dementia 13- Shocked by the death of her spouse, a scheming widow hatches a bold plan to get her hands on the inheritance, unaware that she is targeted by an axe-wielding murderer who lurks in the family's estate.  This is a Roger Corman flick that Francis Ford Coppola directed back in the day.  I am sure I have come across this on TV a long time ago but I do not recall it and will be picking this one up because I like these Vestron Video releases.

Breakdown- A man searches for his missing wife after his car breaks down in the middle of the desert.  This is a great thriller starring Kurt Russell and I am so glad it has finally been released on blu-ray.  If you are a big fan of Duel then you need to check this out for all the similarities.  Highly recommended.

The Green Knight- A fantasy retelling of the medieval story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.  Local Dallas director David Lowery has made another beautiful movie that feels like a 70s King Arthur movie.  It looks absolutely awesome and has a great story of this knight on a journey.  Highly recommended.

Night of the Animated Dead- Visiting their dad's grave in the countryside, two siblings are attacked by a zombie. Barbara escapes to a farmhouse. A man helps barricade the house as more zombies arrive outside.  I got this a few weeks ago but have not checked it out yet.  I am always in on anything related to this horror classic.

Injustice- On an alternate Earth, the Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane, which causes a rampage in the hero. Superman decides to take control of Earth, Batman and his allies will have to attempt to stop him.  Hopefully Warner Animated keeps up the good work and gives us a good show here.

Escape Room: Tournament of Champions- Six people unwillingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive. Joining forces with two of the original survivors, they soon discover they've all played the game before.  I got the first one sitting around here somewhere collecting dust so I need to do a double feature of these soon.
