Post Workout Shake

New Release Tuesday

Fighting with My Family- A former wrestler and his family make a living performing at small venues around the country while his kids dream of joining World Wrestling Entertainment. A nice looking comedy from the Rock’s production company and he has a small role in it.  I got this already and will check out what the Rock is cooking soon.

Cold Pursuit- A grieving snowplow driver seeks out revenge against the drug dealers who killed his son. This is another Liam Neeson action flick where he probably will track down, find, and kill some people.   Sounds good.

Triple Threat- A hit contract is taken out on a billionaire's daughter who is intent on bringing down a major crime syndicate. A down and out team of mercenaries must take on a group of professional assassins and stop them before they kill their target. I love DTV flicks and word is this is one of the better ones to come out recently, so I’ll spin this soon.

Happy Death Day 2U- Tree Gelbman discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead.  This first one was surprisingly good for a PG13 horror comedy so I need to watch it again before I get to this follow up.

Apollo 11- A look at the Apollo 11 mission to land on the moon led by commander Neil Armstrong and pilots Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.  This would have been much better in the theater but of course I missed it there.

John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars- In 2176, a Martian police unit is sent to pick up a highly dangerous criminal at a remote mining post. Upon arrival, the cops find that the post has become a charnel house.  This is not Carpenter’s best movie but it does have Jason Statham in it and a killer soundtrack.  I am glad this was released on blu ray because I missed it on the first release.

Cherokee Creek- A bachelor party in the woods gets crashed by the ultimate party animal.  This horror comedy was shot in North Texas and had some issues getting on Amazon when it was first released so I am glad there is a physical release of this now.  I love Big Foot movies.

The Head Hunter- A medieval warrior's gruesome collection of heads is missing only one - the monster that killed his daughter years ago.  This came out on DVD last week but I missed it here on the blog but picked it up this week and it is awesome.  It was shot for $30k and it is quite an impressive flick that looks like it cost way more.  This is one of the best movies of the year so far, highly recommended.
