New Release Tuesday

I remember catching this on cable about a decade ago and was blown away by it.  Robert Blake plays an Arizona motorcycle cop that works a murder case and gets promoted to detective and learns all about police corruption.  He works the big case and then just wants to return to the solace of his bike duty in the desert.  Great scenery here and this great 70s flick has a lot of soul to it.  Look for members of Chicago in this as they play some minor roles.

I was really looking forward to this until I saw the first trailers and man did they suck.  They have completely removed the man in the wrong place at the wrong time scenario and have made John McClane a super hero.  Jumping off of planes and out of buildings was not what this character was built on.  Any way the word is this is better than the last one so I will give it a spin tomorrow.

Director Peter Bogdanovich made this homage to the classic musical comedies of the 30s.  This was back when Burt was on the top of his game.

I loved getting up early to catch the Lone Ranger in the mornings. Those old black and white episodes were good times with my Lone Ranger and Tonto action figures.  This set is huge and pricey and it is time to cash in because Disney's Lone Ranger is a month away.

Mad Max: Fury Road is a year away but Warner Brothers wants to get you interested in Max Rockatansky now.  Mad Max is great,  The Road Warrior is one of the all time classics, and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome had its moments.  Great set, reccommended.
