New Release Tuesday
When her little brother, Martin,
experiences the same events that once tested her sanity, Rebecca works to
unlock the truth behind the terror, which brings her face to face with an
entity that has an attachment to their mother, Sophie. This seemed to please the horror crowd so
this is going to be worth a look see.
In the forests of the Pacific
Northwest, a father devoted to raising his six kids with a rigorous physical
and intellectual education is forced to leave his paradise and enter the world,
challenging his idea of what it means to be a parent. I like Viggo Mortensen
and he picks some interesting projects and it looks like he took some time off
before this flick so he should be pretty fresh in it.
A retired American boxer returns to
the village of his birth in Ireland, where he finds love. This is one of those
required viewing movies because it is directed by the great John Ford and this
pic has some of the most gorgeous scenery from Ireland every put on film. This is also the movie that showed that Duke
Wayne could actually act and he and co-star Maureen O’Hara are always great
together in a movie.
A police lieutenant uncovers more than
he bargained for as his investigation of a series of murders, which have all
the hallmarks of the deceased 'Gemini' serial killer, lead him to question the
patients of a psychiatric ward. Forget
the Exorcist II, skip that crap and put this in. This is a much worthier sequel to the
original. Director William Peter Blatty
was the author of the original Exorcist and wanted a different title for this
but was overruled by the studio and the WB also stepped in and cut this movie
up pretty heavily. This Scream Factory
release features a director’s cut so it will be interesting to see which is a
better cut since I like the original quite a bit.
