New Release Tuesday

Another slow Tuesday for releases this week.  There is no new big release this week but there is a Stallone gem form the late 90s that was desperately needing an upgrade from its bad DVD release.

Daylight-  Ah, disaster movies of the 90s.  Those were some good times. Twister, Armageddon, Hard Rain, Dante's Peak, and Daylight.  Stallone had this one good flick left in him before taking some time off and making his latest comeback with Rocky Balboa, Rambo, and the Expendables.  Sly plays Kit Latura who is thrown into action when an accident causes the tunnel between Manhattan and Jersey to partially collapse.  Sly, who used to be an emergency worker in New York is familiar with the tunnel and volunteers to go help the people stranded inside.  Amy Brenneman co-stars and helps Sly carry the movie.  Solid action flick by director Rob Cohen who was just getting his action movie directing feet wet and went on to do the Fast and the Furious and other flicks.

Only one more episode of Justified left after last night's episode.  It may be the best show on tv right now and recently won a Peabody to support that.

Tonight is last episode of the Office with Michael Scott in it.  It will be interesting to see what direction this show takes now.

The Rangers are still clinging to first place despite a rash of injuries lately so this season will certainly have its challenges.
