New Release Last Tuesday

A vengeful vampire slayer must retrieve an ancient Catholic relic that, should it be acquired by vampires, will allow them to endure sunlight.  Perhaps the last great John Carpenter movie and this is made like a Western so it is pretty dang cool.

A slapstick, black comedy about a man (Reynolds) who finds that he hasn't much time to live and he continues to bungle his suicide attempts. I never caught this movie back in the day and I see the cuteness of Sally Field is in it.

When aliens misinterpret video feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth in the form of the video games.  I have not seen an Adam Sandler movie since The Waterboy.  This did not perform too well at the box office so perhaps Sandler will finally stop making movies if we are all lucky.

A young married couple's lives are thrown into a harrowing tailspin when an acquaintance from the husband's past brings mysterious gifts and a horrifying secret to light after more than 20 years.  This is a good looking thriller and Jason Bateman is a really good dramatic actor when given the chance.

A man is accidentally transported to 1300 A.D., where he must battle an army of the dead and retrieve the Necronomicon so he can return home.  AKA Evil Dead 3 as this is definatley the most comedic of the trilogy and this comes out just in time to get you warmed up for the Ash vs. Evil Dead series debuting Halloween night.  This is from Scream Factory and is has alternates cuts and is packed with special features.

Boxer Billy Hope turns to trainer Tick Wills to help him get his life back on track after losing his wife in a tragic accident and his daughter to child protection services.  From Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter so it will probably be some hardcore boxing involved here.
