New Release Tuesdays

It was a fantastic, busy Halloween season around Harry's house this year.  I am pretty sure I set a new record for hours worked in a month and also set a new record for new horror movies watched in October.  I hope you had a great Halloween season.  Now time to get caught up on the last two weeks new releases.

After young girl is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school.  A great flick from Pixar as almost always.

Ravening jungle beasts assemble in flocks to invade an otherwise quiet home where they chase humans up and down stairways and from one room to another.  I love the tag line of this movie, ‘No animals were harmed in the making of this film.  70 cast and crew members were’. This looks like a real good time.

Rusty Griswold takes his own family on a road trip to "Walley World" in order to spice things up with his wife and reconnect with his sons.  I am not too sure about his reboot and I thought it would be better off with more of the senior Griswolds actors Chevy and Beverly.  It will be worth a rent sometime.  I am actually surprised Mrs. Gauntlet has not requested this since THOR is in it.

A young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980s, finds herself pulled into the world of her mom's most famous movie. Reunited, the women must fight off the film's maniacal killer.  This looks like another, interesting way to explore 80s horror movies again and it might be fun.

When John Connor, leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline.  Yes, this was PG-13 and watered downed and something Arnold was very against of back in the day but he had to succumb to the studio on this one since his star power is not what it once was.  This is not a bad movie, just check your brain at the door and sit back and enjoy.  He’s back!  Scored the steelbook at Target!

Having thought that monogamy was never possible, a commitment-phobic career woman may have to face her fears when she meets a good guy.  I have seen a little bit Amy’s shtick and it’s pretty good so I will get around to this soon.

An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes, deals with early dementia, as he tries to remember his final case and a woman, the memory of whom still haunts him. He also befriends a fan, the young son of his housekeeper, who wants him to work again.  I like the concept of an older Holmes getting back on the job ala The Dark Knight Returns.

A computer generated superhero and his human creator fight crime in their city. This brings back some great memories from 1983.  This was a very short lived show but was pretty cool to my young eyes as they were definately going for TRON here.

A man who can change himself into any animal fights crime.  Again, another short lived show from 1983.  I always remember watching this at my grandparents house and there is an episode where he changes into a hawk and my grandfather being silly says, "Look, he's changing into a chicken!"  Isn't Will Ferrell working on this as a movie project?
