New Release Tuesday
Four men set out in the Wild West to rescue a group of captives from cannibalistic cave dwellers. We have not seen the great Kurt Russell in a Western since Tombstone and this year we get two Westerns from him with this and The Hateful Eight. I been reading good things about this and I am a sucker for anything Kurt Russell and any Western. I have I just got this and I hope to see the other in the theater soon.
After spending two decades in England, Bill Bryson returns to the U.S.,
where he decides the best way to connect with his homeland is to hike
the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends. I saw when Redford was out doing press for this that this movie has been in the works for quite some time. So long that he said this was going to be the third movie he and his late buddy Paul Newman were going to do together.

New Release Last Tuesday
A sleek, possessed black car terrorizes everyone it comes in
contact with in a small town in Utah.
Think Jaws on wheels here as this movie is a lot of fun. I remember staying up late to see this on TV
in the old days and would look thru the TV guide to see when it was on again so
I would not miss it because this did not become available on VHS until the late
90s. I have already watched this and it
looks and sounds awesome because it is from Scream Factory of course. Highly Recommended.
Ethan Hunt and team take on their most impossible mission
yet, eradicating the Syndicate - an International rogue organization as highly
skilled as they are, committed to destroying the IMF. I was on vacation when this came out
theatrically so I did not see it but heard great things about it. I scored the steel book at BB.
Newlywed couple Ted and Tami-Lynn want to have a baby, but
in order to qualify to be a parent, Ted will have to prove he's a person in a
court of law. The first one was really
good and this sequel came and went without much fanfare so this will warrant a
rental first.
Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous
universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn
to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former
friend turned enemy. I had to go check
this out to see if it was as bad as advertised and it was unfortunately. I think a movie about the making of this
movie would probably be better than the turd that was produced here because
there was quite a bit of bickering between the studio and the director before
this was released and from what I have read I am not sure who deserves the blame
for this mess. Flame off!

Invasion U.S.A. on Blu Ray
Shout Factory will be releasing one of the greatest Chuck movies of all time on blu ray March 15, 2016. This is my favorite Chuck movie as he defends America single-handedly and shows you how to properly drive your truck thru the shopping mall. This is also one of the great Cannon releases of the 80s. "It's time to die."
This movie is Chuck Approved! |

New Release Tuesday
Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlet
Overkill, a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a
plot to take over the world. I missed
this one in the theater because the small people in my house saw it with
others. Is it as good without Gru?
Armed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to
shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace
his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist
that will save the world. When this was
announced I felt like this would be Marvel’s first misstep with their
movies. That and I was ticked director
Edgar Wright left (or was forced off) the project. This movie was the big surprise of the summer
for me and it is so much better than it was supposed to be. Our super hero is centimeters tall (or
smaller) so this movie needed a little more humor to be accepted and it
works. Be sure to check this out. Scored the steelbook at BB.
Two FBI agents, Fox Mulder the believer and Dana Scully the
skeptic, investigate the strange and unexplained while hidden forces work to
impede their efforts. This was a really great show especially in the middle of
its run. This also comes out in separate season sets so
I will need to pick this up someday. I
cannot wait for its return to TV in January. The truth is still out there.
When DEA agents are taken captive by a ruthless South
American kingpin, Chuck and the Delta Force are reunited to rescue them. It is so nice to see all these Chuck movies
coming to blu ray and we get some good stuff next year too. This features a great Chuck fight sequence (I
know that is not a surprise) with great teacher-student lines. Chuck is getting
whipped on and then he grabs the guy and says, “My turn to teach.” Great stuff. Fantastic cover art!
No Statham, no watch.
An officially "dead" cop is trained to become an
extraordinarily unique assassin in service of the US president. This was a fun movie back in the day and this
was supposed to be a franchise but low box office kept it to a one shot
deal. Where’s the blu ray?
