New Release Tuesday

I have been hearing good things about this new horror flick from comic book man Kevin Smith.  I hear Smith gets back to his Indie directing roots here a bit and made a fun little flick.  The name and the cover tell the action here.  Stars the great Michael Parks.(From Dusk til Dawn, The Return of Josey Wales)

Denzel Washington plays an old, white retired intelligence agent turned private detective and helps various threatened clients to equalize the odds.   At least that is what the old show was about I don’t know about the movie of the same name.

A motivational book written by a mysterious man quickly gains popularity, inspiring a group of people that includes a journalist, his editor, a former inmate, a hip-hop mogul, an actor and an undercover cop to re-evaluate their choices and decisions by confronting their fears in hopes of creating more positive lives.  This looks a lot like Crash and it’s got Sly so that was worthy enough of a purchase for me.  Yeah, I’m a sucker.

From the Desk of Sly Stallone...

Sly Stallone tweeted out this pic the other day (I don't do the tweet) of his desk and proclaimed, "Where the screen writing is done."  He has also posted this week that he is about to go to Philly to film the Rocky spinoff Creed and then will film Rambo: Last Blood.  That will be followed up by the mafia movie Scarpa about a notorious mob hit-man responsible for in excess of 20 murders who was in the service of the F.B.I. as an informant.  Looks like Sly is locked in for awhile.

I need to put some knifes in my desk so people won't bother me at work.

I have searched the web and I cannot find a single title I have any interest in today.  So let's take the week off.  Next week has some cool looking titles.  Merry Christmas!

New Release Tuesday 12/16

I have never seen or read any form of this franchise.  I believe I was a little too old for it when it debuted  Do these turtles look a little heavier then before?

Looks like another boring looking teen wannbe action movie.  Pass.

The great Scream Factory brings us another Clive Barker movie this year.  I remember being underwhelmed by this but my taste has expanded over the years so I may give it another run.

Ah, when a man becomes a woman for the gig.  This was quite a funny movie with a guy you would never consider funny back then.  But Dustin Hoffman pulled it off in this hilarious bit.  Good turn by Jessica Lange in this too.  This is from Criterion so it will be the best of everything.

Hey, it’s that time of the year!

Could be interesting…
