New Release Tuesday
The year's biggest movie comes out today and it is much deserving of all the cash it raked in. Congrats to Marvel Studios for getting this altogether and making it such a success critically and financially. Warner Brother, when are you getting on board with JLA? I saw this in the theater on opening night and that was the most fun I have had in the theater in a long time. And they finally got the Hulk right this time!
I have bought these movies a couple time more than I would like and I know there will be more complete collections that will come out in the future but I am a sucker for the fifty year thing. I love most of these and I am excited to be getting the nine unreleased blu rays in this set. Bring on Skyfall!
Warner animation continues to release good stuff. This is based on Frank Miller's 1986 story of an older Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement to be Batman and reclaim Gotham City which has fell to crime in a very bad way.
The FX network is turning out some great TV lately. This was a really good horror story of a family living in a haunted house and they have to deal with all the past occupants, living and dead. Great for horror buffs and features fine work by Jessica Lange as she won an Emmy for her role in this.

Top 10: Coolest Vehicles in Movies
1. The Bat Mobile- The Dark Knight Just about every Bat Mobile you see in any of the other movies is cool but I love Nolan's version because it is almost tank like. And there is a Bat Pod in there too!
2. James Bonds' Aston Martin- Goldfinger This was first introduced in Goldfinger and appeared in many more Bond flicks but I gotta stick with Goldfinger on this one. First, because of the guy standing by it. Second, we see the ejector seat in action.
3. 1968 Ford Bullitt Mustang GT390- Bullitt The late, great Steve McQueen had the pleasure of driving this in still the best car chase ever filmed.
4. 1977 Pontiac Trans Am- Smokey and the Bandit This car totally wowed audiences back in the day with its speed and bridge jumping ability. It became a huge seller and Pontiac sent Burt Reynolds a new one every year.
5. 1973 Ford Falcon aka the V-8 Interceptor- The Road Warrior This car could out run anything in the Wasteland. It sure was a shame to blow it up.
6. Early 90s Chevy Truck- Tango and Cash I'm a truck guy and wanted one of these ever since I saw this. The only bad thing about Tango and Cash was that this truck was not in it enough.
7. The Landmaster- Damnation Alley A fun little sci fi movie in 1977 that got way overshadowed by some George Lucas movie. The Landmaster was the star of the movie as it had guns, rockets, and was also an amphibious vehicle.
8. 1981 Delorean DMC-12- Back to the Future Not only did this car have cool doors but it flew and time traveled.
9. 1959 Cadillac Ambulance- Ghostbusters Not bad for a Caddy but this car did have one annoying horn on it.
10. 1969 Dodge Charger- The Dukes of Hazzard A bit of a give up here but this awesome ride was featured in a very bad movie. Yeeeehah!

New Horror Release Tuesday
I have purposely not read to much in this new horror flick because it scored positive reviews and did descent at the box office. Stars Chris Hemsworth (THOR) who is in like 13 movies this year and some nice other supporting actors. It appears to be an old school horror flick but it is really an experiment. Can't wait to watch this.
I know Halloween II was just released last year by Universal but home movie company SHOUT Factory has created a division called SCREAM Factory and they have put a lot more love into this sequel and part 3 as well. Original Halloween director John Carpenter hands over the directorial reigns but still writes, produces, and does the music to one of the best horror sequels of all time. This one takes off right where the original left off as Michael continues to terrorize Haddonfield. Kudos to SCREAM Factory for their great work on the video, audio, and special features on this as this thing is loaded. Love the art as well.
This movie has finally started to get some due respect from the horror community. Halloween creator John Carpenter killed of Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis in Halloween II but decided to keep the name brand going and make a new Halloween movie every year with a different story. The studio ran with it and when the general audience first saw this and determined Mike Myers was not in it they dismissed it immediately and it was a box office flop. They should have have just named it Season of the Witch and it probably would have done alright. It is actually a really good horror flick so enjoy watching it while wearing a mask.

Welcome Fall!
I talked this over with Mrs. Gauntlet recently and we both came to the conclusion that Fall is our favorite time of the year. Cooler Texas weather, College Football, and Halloween season lead the reasons why as it is our favorite. This is the time of year when Mrs. Gauntlet decks the house out with all of her Halloween decorations and I bust out the horror movies to watch. By myself. She is not a big horror fan and I cannot even get her to watch the classics that may be considered not as scary or gory. Any way, got some pumpkin beer and candy corn last night and I popped in Killer Klowns from Outer Space into the PS3 and continued the horror movie watching I started last weekend with Hatchet and Frozen. I finished the night off with Hatchet 2 and look forward to next weekend because Cabin in the Woods comes out Tuesday. Happy Fall to you!

New Release Tuesday
It is getting close to Halloween so time for the horror to begin. In the 80s horror comedy was the rage after John Landis' An American Werewolf in London and the market became quite saturated late in the decade. But every once in a while one would come out and defy the rest, Killer Klowns from Outer Space is one of those. Just read that title again and that explains it all. Any way a group of Clowns from space come down to terrorize a small town but it is hard for anybody to take them serious because of the way they look. Good stuff.
It was 12 twelve years later but it was inevitable that a sequel to one of the best horror movies ever was gonna get made. Original TCM director Tobe Hooper returned to direct and brought the same characters back but with a whole new cast except for the Cook. Oh yeah and instead of making a hard core horror movie like the first one they switch gears and add a little comedy to the continuing adventures of the Sawyer family. Dennis Hopper stars as a Texas Ranger in pursuit of the cannibal clan as we learn he has a personal interest in the case too. This also has fine work by the great Bill Moseley as Chop Top. Highly Recommended.
I love Charlize Theron and have a huge mancrush on THOR's Chris Hemsworth but I cannot get past strung out looking, cheating ho bag Kristen Stewart as Snow White. I mean if she was playing a strung out looking, cheating ho bag in some sort of drama I might watch but she makes this unappealing. Will RedBox it.

New Release Tuesday
Brit action man Jason Statham returns to protect a girl on the run from alot of bad dudes. I expect some good fight scenes in this action caper.
Ah, this Lovecraft classic comes to blu ray. This pic was not rated upon release an I tried many times to sneak into see this a few times at the dollar theater but never could crack it. I had to wait a few years to catch it on late night syndicated TV and watch it in all its glorious edited fashion but it still turned out good and the unrated version is even better. This spawned a couple of sequels but this one is by far the best.
The Five Dollar Wal Mart bin presented a great gift today on this new 8 pack horror release. Cannot wait to check out Chopping Mall and The Class of 1999!
Season 5 starts Tuesday!
