New Horror Release Tuesday

I have purposely not read to much in this new horror flick because it scored positive reviews and did descent at the box office.  Stars Chris Hemsworth (THOR) who is in like 13 movies this year and some nice other supporting actors.  It appears to be an old school horror flick but it is really an experiment.  Can't wait to watch this.

I know Halloween II was just released last year by Universal but home movie company SHOUT Factory has created a division called SCREAM Factory and they have put a lot more love into this sequel and part 3 as well.  Original Halloween director John Carpenter hands over the directorial reigns but still writes, produces, and does the music to one of the best horror sequels of all time.  This one takes off right where the original left off as Michael continues to terrorize Haddonfield.  Kudos to SCREAM Factory for their great work on the video, audio, and special features on this as this thing is loaded.  Love the art as well.

This movie has finally started to get some due respect from the horror community.  Halloween creator John Carpenter killed of Michael Myers and Dr. Loomis in Halloween II but decided to keep the name brand going and make a new Halloween movie every year with a different story.  The studio ran with it and when the general audience first saw this and determined Mike Myers was not in it they dismissed it immediately and it was a box office flop.  They should have have just named it Season of the Witch and it probably would have done alright.  It is actually a really good horror flick so enjoy watching it while wearing a mask.
