This is a good looking World War 2 drama about some art lovers turned military
group tasked with saving art from Nazi thieves and returning it to their
owners. Clooney has been doing some good
stuff lately both acting and directing and I am a sucker for war movies.
Kevin Costner has already had 3 movies out this year and has
a possible 4th lined up. This
is about a dying CIA agent trying to reconnect with his estranged daughter is
offered an experimental drug that could save his life in exchange for one last
assignment. It’s a nice looking action
flick from writer Luc Besson (Taken, The Transporter) but I go into this
cautiously optimistic because McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator:
Suckvation) is listed as the director.
I always thought this is one of the Duke’s best movies of as
he gets to show his comedic chops here.
This guy makes good workout music and has done a couple of
good horror movies so far so this has potential. Maybe GWAR influenced? We will see.
