New Release Tuesday

The story of Chelsey Sullenberger an American pilot who became a hero after landing his damaged plane on the Hudson River to save the flight's passengers and crew.  Clint Eastwood tells another true story and even if you know the outcome of this event there was whole other story going on with Captain Sully behind the scenes.  This is a really good movie as it is very tightly paced and the shortest of Eastwood’s career and Tom Hanks does a nice job of showing he really cares for his passengers and crew.  Highly recommended.

Seven gun men in the old west gradually come together to help a poor village against savage thieves.  Now this story was ready for a remake and it was good except for in the old west when people got shot they bled.  This PG-13 flick does not show an ounce of blood for such a shoot em’ up and that is the only bad part of the movie.

Five carnival workers are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns.  I did not see this in its very limited run and the horror crowd is divided on this but I picked it up and I hope the ‘Devils Rejects’ Rob Zombie made this not the ‘Halloween 2’ one.

Three more bone-chilling tales that include a vengeful wooden Native American, a monstrous blob in a lake, and a hitchhiker who wants revenge and will not die.  I saw this for the first time a couple of years ago, and I was shocked at how good it was and wondered why I did not see it back in its heyday.  There are only three stories compared the original’s five but they are great.  This sequel had a smaller budget and it shows sometimes but it plays so well it should not make a difference.  Highly recommended and thanks for the ride lady!  This is an American Arrow release so it will look awesome!
